Was your grandmother's name Mandy? If so, I have been in contact with that family. I do not think there is a link with my branch any time recently. There is a possibility that Amos' father's name was Perry Cassiday, as there was a Perry Cassiday in SE Iowa in the late 1800s and was, I think accidentally, associated with my family. I wrote to and spoke by phone with a family of Cassidys in Leadwood, MO. They used to spell their name Cassiday and recently changed it because of other's misspellings, etc. They own a water pump system there. They are spread all over the area of Ironton, Farmington, and Leadwood. Very nice people. They say Amos was 275 lbs and all muscle from carrying railroad ties for 10 cents an hour. I have a record of Frank Cassiday, son of Amos, born in Dillard, MO March 1906. He died in 1983. Frank's(his wife was Lena) sons were Robert(recently passed away in car accident), Frank Jr., and I think one other.
