I have been looking at some of the messages in your forum.I have been research my family tree and would find any information that you may have very helpful.
My mother was Marjorie Casson, daughter of George Edward Casson born about 1899 in Cumberland. His father was Thomas Casson born about 1866 around Carlisle I think. He married Catherine.I cannot find his records on the Latter Day Saints site.
I know that this family has links with Bowmans, Cottiers, Ritsons, Williamsons of Keswick (Lord Ashton) and also the Christian family of the Isle of Man (Fletcher Christian). Our family forenames are usually those such as John, William, George, Edward, Henry, and include Thomas and Mark, Margaret Ann (this may be a link to Margaret Ritson), also Susan and Catherine.
The Ritson family is mentioned in Hugh Walpole's books Rogue Herries and Judith Paris. It is a very good 'atmospheric' and historic record of Cumberland during the 1700 and 1800's.
I note that Mark Carson is the wrong spelling of Mark Casson. This is the lead to the Ritson Cassons which I think may be in my line.
