Glen L. Casteel, 71, of Blountville, Sullivan Co TN, went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2009, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Sullivan County, TN, a son to the late William and Mary Eaton Casteel.
He was a lifelong resident of Blountville and worked as a welder/pipe fitter for several different companies. Glen was a member and deacon at Riverview Baptist Church.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 year, Joanne Cross Casteel; a son of 41 years, Sidney Paul Casteel; brothers, Jack, Ray, Toy, and Robert Casteel, and Herb Hickman; and a sister, Gladys Ball.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Frances Hobbs and husband Andy, and Teresa Casteel and Mike Goodwin; grand- children, William Hobbs, Robbie Hobbs, Rachel Casteel, and Amanda Casteel; special relatives, Harmon and Eva Casteel and family of ALA, and H. L. Minnick of Nashville, TN.
The family received friends on Sunday, February 22, 2009, from 2 to 3:45 p.m., prior to the service.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, at 4 p.m., in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Mink officiating.
Committal service will be on Monday, February 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Casteel, Bobby Casteel, and Johnny Casteel.
