Hi to All,
Here is the latest on the Caswell Family Reunion.
Time and Place. Yellow Pine Campground, July 31 & Aug 1st. We will be going up on Thursday July 29th and leaving on Monday Aug 2 so if you want to spend more time exploring with us come up earlier than . The picnic will be on Sunday Aug 1st at:00.
On Saturday we plan on driving up to Thunder Mountain. The road is now open but there is a gate on the road down to the mine. I am trying to contact Jim Agnew to get permission to drive on down to the mine. Reclamation work is on going at the mine with all the metal buildings etc being cleaned out
Sunday at the picnic should be a lot of fun. Wes will be the auctioneer again this reunion, please bring something to be auctioned off. Last reunion Bob Higgins brought a wonderful quilt made from our reunion t-shirts and Wayne Minshal brought a picture of the Caswell cabins on Big Creek. What can you bring? Put on your thinking caps. Also talking about thinking, we all have memories of the Caswell Brothers. Whether they be of stories you have heard or things that happened at past reunions. Please write them down and bring to share. I would like to put together all these stories for family members to keep.
Ava Lutteman, who transcribed the Caswell Diary, is planning on being with us. She has researched what some of the phrases in the diaries mean and will share those with us. The picnic should be a lot of fun.
T-Shirts are being made now. If you would like to order please get back to me by July 12th. The price will be $10.00. Hats will be $9.00. Sweat Shirts will be $14.00. Pictured this year will be Lu with his pack string at the Big Creek Ranch.
Hope you will all be there,
