Dear Rich Cathcart,
Could you give me any information on the three Scotchmen who moved to Ireland and what part they settled in, also any information about their family.
My Cathcart Lineage was from Samuel Cathcart, who came to the Colonies in 1768 and landed in Charles Town S.C. when he was 23 years old.He came from Ireland, some say from Antrim and I believe he sailed from Bristol.I have quite a bit about the family from that time on down but have been unable to find out about their life in Ireland or Scotland. Please let me hear from you, with any information that you might have.We have been told that the family originated in Scotland, but I feel like my Samual may have been born in Ireland.
Thank you, Annabelle Cathcart Stroman
