Elizabeth Cauthen, the first child of Thomas Cauthen, Jr., and his wife Nancy Stevens, and granddaughter of the Revolutionary Patriot Thomas Cauthen, married Wylie Horton.About 1842 they moved to Shelby Co., Alabama.Their Family Bible was preserved by Mr. I.P. Mason, Stockton, Alabama.In 1951 he sent to Henry F. Cauthen of Columbia, S.C. a copy of the record in it as follows:
