Area Couple to Note Golden Anniversary
Out-of-town guests will arrive in Booneville this week to attend the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Leo Cauthron, who will be honored at an open house this Sunday afternoon (July 12, 1970) in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church of Booneville. Friends and relatives will be received between the hours of two and five o'clock.
Receiving with the celebrants will be their children: Mrs. Clarence (Jessie Walker Cauthron) Lacy of Pell City, Alabama; Rufus Walter Cauthron of Pleasantville, California; Mrs. Clarence (Jimmie Marie Cauthron) Bull of Fort Smith; Mrs. Leroy (Marjorie Lee Cauthron)Stewart of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; Mrs. Sam (Mayrene Cauthron) Oliver of Booneville; and Charles Everett Cauthorn of Crescent City, California and their families.
Martha Elizabeth (Lizzie) Womack became the bride of Oscar Leo Cauthron on July 14, 1920, in a ceremony in the home of the Rev. Beard Taylor. [Mrs. Cauthron's parents were John Everett Womack and Lydia Arabelle McInturf. Mr. Cauthron's parents were Charles Cleburn Cauthron, Sr. and Jessie S. McCaslin.] Mr. Cauthron is a retired deputy sheriff and farmer.
Mr. and Mrs. Cauthron are lifelong residents of the Booneville area. In addition to their two sons and four daughters, they have 13 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.
