For whatever it is worth, I have it that George Cavett was born in 1750, and was the son of Richard (1727 - 1789) and Elizabeth Whitley Cavett. George was probably born in Paxtang (now Paxton) Township in what was then Lancaster County, PA, but which later became Dauphin County, PA. I have it that he was the seventh and last child of Richard and Elizabeth Cavett.
I also have that Patric Cavett (1735 - 1835) had a son named George.Patric Cavett was a brother of Richard Cavett. The "Comerative Biographical Record of Washington County, PA, 1893, on page 973 states "John Arnold . . . . in 1821 he was married to Mary Cavitt, who was born in 1805, in Allegheny County, Penn., daughter of George Cavitt, a native of Franklin County, Penn., whose father, Patrick Cavitt, was born in Ireland".
Probably one of these George Cavetts is your man.
