Anyone relying on Cessna family research should require verification, rather than rely on myth. Specifically, you should request any reasonable verification that (1) Jean DeCessna was a Count or that he fought in the Battle of Boyne,(2) Jean DeCessna came from Ireland,(3) any record exists other than the immigration and ship passenger lists which record that he came to this country alone, (4) or that there is any evidence the name variations of Sisney, Cisney, Cisne, Cissna, and Cisna are in any way related to Cessna. You will find no such evidence exists. The Cessna family history as reported is myth, just as the family coat-of-arms is a hoax and just as the author of "The House of Cessna" intentionally confused different families. To find the truth requires discarding false assumptions and looking at fact--not folklore.
