Mary's father was Johnathan6 CHAFFEE, b Swansea MA Nov 1785, d, Boston Nov 1863. Married in Seekonk, MA, Nancy, daughter of John Aldrich of Cumberland, RI. Nancy died in Boston, May 1873, age 81.
Johnathan's father was Stephen5 CHAFFEE, b Rehoboth? MA, abt 1757, d Springville, NY Jan 23, 1819, in his sixty-third yr. Married Swansea, Dec 14, 1783, Patience Mason, who d April 15, 1838 in her 74th yr, also Springville. Stephen served in Revolutionary War. [Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution].
Stephen's father was Thomas4 CHAFFE, Jr, b Rehoboth Dec 10, 1712, d before Mar 27, 1792. Married there, April 19, 1739, Rebecca, dau of Nathaniel Hunt. Rebecca was still alive in 1795.
Thomas4's father was Thomas3 CHAFFE (CHAFEY), b Swansea Oct 19, 1672, d Rehoboth Feb 21, 1754. Married there, Jun 4 1695, Margaret, dau of Joseph and Margaret (Sutton) Carpenter. She was b May 4, 1675, d Rehoboth May 6, 1751. He is described in marriage records as "yoeman" and in 1703 land sale as "weaver".
Thomas3's father was Nathaniel CHAFFE, probably b Nantasket (later Hull) MA, between 1638 and 1642, d Rehoboth Sept 1721. Married Swansea Aug 19, 1669, Experience, dau Jonathan and Miriam (Harmon) Bliss of Rehoboth. She also died in Sept 1721. (Visit the Bliss family genealogy web page for many more Bliss generations)
