The information you seek on your chaffee lineage can be found in the chaffee family geneology by william chaffee, copyright 1909 from grafton press.
I quote from the book here:
Olive chaffee, born December 19, 1782; married Ebenezer Sanger (her cousin). Records show that February 6, 1813, Olive chaffee of Canterbury bought for $200, twenty-four acres of land in Brooklyn, Conn., the adjoining town. After Olive's death, Ebenezer Sanger married Eunice Hutchins.
Children of Ebenezer and Olive: Ebenezer Sanger, Jr., born April 17, 1819
Children of Ebenezer and Eunice: Luther Sanger, born April 22, 1821 George Sanger, born May 18, 1825 Martin Hutchins Sanger, born April 12, 1827 Hannah Sanger, born December 12, 1830 Olive Chaffee Sanger, born August 17, 1833.
Olive's lineage back to the first chaffee in america is Ebenezer Chaffee, Jr.(262), Ebenezer Chaffee (78), John Chaffee (16), Joseph Chaffee (3), Thomas Chaffee (1).
The numbers after the name relate to the record number in the book. There is far too much information in this book to put here. I would suggest finding it if you want to learn more about these people.I originally found it in the Sutro library in san francisco and subsequently bought one for myself.
