Aside from the two uncertainties reflected in the genealogy posted below, there are a few other things worth mentioning:
-Native interest: in 1821, over a decade before the above realted families came to Montebello from the Terrebonne/Île-Jésus area, there is a baptism recorded:
Joseph Chalifoux (Montebello 1821-) natural s/o Joseph Chalifoux, voyageur & Marie-Josephte Sakigikokae
-There is an Adéline Chalifoux present in 1854, perhaps the daughter of Joseph & Josephte Poitevin... (?)
-There is a Pierre Chalifoux present in 1855 at the funeral of Joseph Thomas.Perhaps the son of Louis Chalifoux & Marie Dion... (?) Although that Pierre doesn't seem to have lived in the area.
-In Terrebonne, the birth of two twin daughters, Marie-Louise and Marie-Philomène Chalifoux are recorded in 1839.The parents are listed as Joseph Chalifoux and Angélique Blouin... That couple is not otherwise traceable... Perhaps this is Angélique Poitevin... (?)
