WIlliam David Kendall m. Vardie Lou Burns

I'm looking for my G-GM, Vardie Lou Burns, who was married to William David Kendall s/o Mary Etta Clark. William was born in Benwood MS, 1903 and Vardie was born in Vardaman MS,1903.

Vardie Kendall was listed as Christopher Columbus (Clump) Chaney's sister in his obit. This is why I think she was: In 1920 she was listed Vardie L. Long in Calhoun Co. Ms in the household with Douglas (Clump's brother) and his wife Ider. She was listed as a 16yr old widow. (My dad told me she was married for a short while before my G-GF but we don't even know to who.) This has stumped me for a while b/c I know her name was Burns not Chaney.

Douglas's wife Ider was Ida Melton born about 1900, d/o John Baker Melton. She was married to Douglas Chaney and later to Bill Melton. I was told she had 2 children by a guy named Doug/las Burns (not even slightly sure about his first name) during/after the marriage to Douglas Cheney. I was told her daughter Cora Irene, born 1927, is a Burns.

Vardie is too old to be Ida's daughter by Douglas Burns but was the right age to be Douglas Burns say...........sister. That would make her Ida's (almost) sister-in-law. If something happened to Douglas and Vardie's parents (or not), Vardie could have went to live with the mother of her brother's children. If Ida claimed her as her sister, she would have been considered Douglas Chaney's sister-in-law or sister also and,therefore, Clump's sister.

I would love to have any information about Vardie Lou Burns.
