Jimmy R. Chase, 73, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at his residence after a period of declining health.
He was born in Sulphur Springs, Washington Co TN, and had been a resident of the area his entire life. Jimmy was a active member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. He was a Fireman for the City of Kingsport retiring in 1975. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Jimmy was a founding member of the Warriors Path Volunteer Fire Department, he was also President of the Eagles, a member of VFW 3382 and an avid UT Volunteer fan.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother, Ola Chase.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Chase; one daughter, Melinda Mullins and husband Jeff, of Kingsport, TN; one son, David Chase and wife Patricia, of Kingsport, TN; two grandchildren, Trevor James 'T.J.' Chase and Lindsey Mullins; and several cousins.
The Family of Jimmy R. Chase will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2010, at Tri-Cities Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Phillips and Rev. Shane Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
