I found more information on Joshua Chatterson this past month. He was in the household of Margaret Chatterson, 49, in Hagar Township, Berrien County, Michigan in the 1860 census, along with Julia Graham, 23, (probably his sister), her husband, William, 31, Sarah Graham, 4, and Harriet Graham, 2. Margaret's occupation was "tailoring" and William Graham was a moulder, born in Ireland. All the others were born in New York. Ages are consistent with those in the 1850 census. Joshua's brothers were Henry, Joseph and Charles and there was another sister, Elisabeth. I believe Henry fought for the Union and settled later in Missouri. Joseph may have served as well. If anyone can tie into this family I would love to hear from you. I will be ordering the service records for Joseph and Henry as soon as possible.
