SPRINGFIELD - Beverlee Ann Cheney, 67, of Springfield died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Oct. 5, 1939, in Chicago, the daughter of George A. and Laura P. Higgins Brodeak.
Miss Cheney graduated from Harris High School in Petersburg in 1958, the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa, in 1966 with a double Bachelor of Arts in religious studies and philosophy, and from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 1990. She retired from the U.S. Navy in 1996.
She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, where she served as an elder and Sunday school teacher, and was a past president of the Women's Association.
Survivors: three brothers, North (wife, Franci) and Larry (wife, Kay) Cheney, both of Springfield, and David Cheney of Brazil; sister, Lauralee (husband, Heinz) Schmid of Belmond, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been accorded.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at Hope Evangelical Free Church.
