I have been online since the 1980s, prior to windows and the net.I know all about your dreaded armchair genealogists. They make up a large chunk of the people who post.At one point the owner of Genforum and Brian Leverich of Rootsweb were headed to court.
Did Brian Leverich ever steal information?Yes he did.He stole mine, as well as several other peoples info, and he stole it directly - hijacked is more like it.I love the armchair genealogist as much as the high and mighty professional. Maybe when they hijack your research, refuse you admission, deny your copyrights, ad nauseum, you too will realize that this is NOT a reputable organization.Or maybe you'll see your copyrighted data as part of a subscription only service.
Given the time to pull the info from the archives, I can provide some comments that would curl your hair, all made by Rootsweb's owner and resident BORG - Brain Leverich (typo deliberate).
Many people are well versed in this, I guess you missed that boat, maybe you were too busy reading the Virginia Genealogist.
