My line is Tully Jr. and Ruth Sims.Wynell and I have been corresponding for a while now and I have put a bit together.Not being in Virginia and having done no research their, I cannot tell you much about the relatives their, but I do have a few questions if anyone can answer these.Was the DAR for Tully Sr. or Jr.?I think that Sr. only participated by providing provisions.
Tully Choice, born June 17, 1753, in Orange, Culpepper or Pittsylvania County Virginia.While residing in Pittsylvania, that part which was later Henry County, Virginia, he enlisted in the Spring of 1776 served as an ensign in Capt. Thomas Dillard's Company,Col. Charles Lewis' Virginia regiment, was in the expedition to Gwyn's Island; after which he was appointed Lieutenant and marched against the Cherokee Indians in Capt. Jesse Heard's company, Colonel Christie's Virginia regiment; served in all about eight months. He was appointed September 15, 1777, Second Lieutenant in the Virginia militia and served from April 1, 1779,about four months in Capt. Witchis's Company, Col. David Mason's regiment.He served in June, 1780 as Lieutenant in Colonel Faulkner's regiment; was in the battle of Camden, where a ball passed through his coat, but he was not injured, length of his service four or five months.He wasappointed August 24, 1780, Captain of the Henry County Virginia militia.
He moved from Henry County, Virginia in 1784 to Ninety-six District, South Carolina, where he lived untilin 1792 when hemoved to Hancock County Georgia.
The soldier , Tully Choice, was allowed pension on his application executed January 7, 1833, then a resident of Hancock County, Georgia. He died there December 19, 1837. There is information on Jesse Kirby, Samuel Bolling, and William Choice,I do not know if John Choice was in the Rev. also but it looks to me like this was a very patriotic family.Has anyone checked to see if William Hall was in the Rev. also?I have no information on Obediah and Mary Choice Taylor, nor have I been able to locate Susannah.Does anyone have information on any of these?Also there is a tax list that names several Hall's Do you have this list?
