My great uncle's name was John Clavin. He was born in the 1920's on the Upper East side of New York City. As far as I know all his siblings (a sister, my grandmother, and a brother) were born in the United States and no other siblings were known to me. He died in the late 1980's. To the best of my knowledge, the Clavin side of my family was in the U.S. and particularly the New York area, from the Famine time until now. His father's name was Walter Clavin who died in the the late 1930's from Tuberculosis. I am not sure at all which part of Ireland they were from. Our relations are probably tenuous at best but I am genuinely interested in the history of my family.
Tom Clavin
