I have Jonathan Cliett, b: abt 1772, Cheraws, S.C. m:(1) Mary (Elizabeth?) Chambliss and had at least Thomas Chambliss Cliett on 7/15/1811(my line), (2)Ona Zachary 1/7/1813 and had probably Jonathan, and (3) Mary Dillard and had George Hillman Cliett. There were other children involved but these are all I have.George Hillman Cliett was a Baptist minister born in Columbia County 2/15/1826. His history in "Of Prominent Baptists" states that Jonathan died when George was 13 years old and that he left a large estate but that its distribution among a number of legatees left to this, his youngest living son, a portion sufficient only to secure a fair English education. There should be a record of this will in Columbia Co. or Richmond Co. that should tell you if Jeremiah was a son. Certainly he was related as the Hillman name continues in your line. Thomas Chambliss Cliett married (1)Elizabeth Smith in Georgia, (2)Mary Ann Bacon nee Roberts 8/19/1836 in Richmond Co., Ga., and (3) Mathilda Catherine Lynes (my line) 9/19/1848 in Macon Co., Alabama.
