In answer to old queries re: John Philip CLUM - he was my great Uncle by his 3rd marr. to Florence BAKER. Here is info. I have for him.
John Philip CLUM was b. 1 Sep 1851 nr Clavarack, Dutchess Co. N.Y. He d. 4 May 1932 southern CA, perhaps in or near San Dimas. He was one of 10 children of William Henry CLUM and Elizabeth VAN DEUSEN. John was grs/o Philip CLUM and Jane SHUFELT. John was great grs/o William CLUM and Elizabeth FRITTS.
John m1. Mary Dennison WARE, 8 Nov 1876 Delaware OH. Mary was niece of one time Gov. of OH Wm DENNISON. Mary was said to have died Dec. 1880 of childbirth on the Apache Indian Reservation, yet John was listed on 1880 census without a wife at Tombstone AZ. Their only child who lived to adulthood was Henry Woodworth CLUM.
John m2. Feb. 1883 Belle ATWOOD, perhaps in Wash. D.C. Belle d. 1912. Only child of this marr. who lived was Caro Kingsland CLUM.
John m3. about 1913/14 probably somewhere around N.Y.City to Florence BAKER b. 6 Dec. 1875 Twp of Shelby, Orleans Co. N.Y. She died 30 June 1961 Los Angeles CA. She was d/o Charles A. BAKER and Mary HINSDALE who were both born in Onondaga Co. N.Y. No issue by Baker.
Florence was a social worker in NYC at the Henry St. Settlement. She was living with a roommate who had a date with John Clum. The roommate was ill and Florence went on the date with Clum and married him.
John's son Henry Woodworth CLUM of Belvedere CA had 3 ch. that I know of. 1. Woodworth Bernhardy CLUM. Died 1988/89. W.B. C. had: A. son John of Santa Fe New mexico, B. dau. Nancy who M. Mr. Gage. She of Studio City CA d. a few yrs ago, C. Woodworth Jr. 2. Marjorie who m. Mr. PARKER. Died 1985 at Univ. of AZ Medical Center. 3. Zoe CLUM PORTER of Albequerque New Mexico.
