This is about your request for info on the Blair line.
Do you have the info on: MARY BLAIR (m) Moses Guest; SC until late 1780s, then to Franklin Co GA.They were both listed on the Cherokee Census of GA 1833 from which those listed were to go on The Trail of Tears from GA to eventually Okla.
Selah(Sela, Celia) Guest (m) ARCHIBALD COCKBURN (b) 1775 VA, son of George Cockburn (b) 1746 Eng/Sct/VA (d)09/1834 Franklin Co GA, will recorded 09/1834 same place. Archibald died 1854 Cherokee Co GA, will recorded there. Will states he and Selah had been married 33 years, thus married 1821. A later census lists Celia Cockburn, age 74, in the household of her son, James Floyd Cockburn, who was exor of Archibald's will.
Back to the Blairs and Guests: Have you read about the famous Cherokee Chief, Sequoiah? He created the ONLY alphabet for an Indian language. He and John Ross then published The Etowah Journal, a newsletter printed in both Eng. and Cherokee.I have photocopied perhaps the only edition of that pamphlet. ANYWAY, Sequoiah's English name was GEORGE GUEST !!!
This Mary Blair may not be the line you're studying, but it's highly likely, since your Donna Mae COCKBURN (m) your Blair.
Hope this is not a duplication of what you already know.If so, maybe someone else will benefit from it. Peggy
