I do not know if Margaret Coffee and Michael McCarthy are related to the Croston or Sullivan families. As yet I have not been able to find if the connection is family or friend.
They are listed as sponsors on the baptismal certificate for one of Michael Croston and Ellen Sullivan Croston's children. Michael Croston worked as a laborer for the railroad and the children were born in different locations in New Hampshire, Massachusettes and Connecticut approx. 2 years apart as he worked along the rail lines.
Michael and Ellen eventually settled in Franklin, Ma.Ellen Sullivan Croston had family in Boston and Dorchester.
I did find that their son, John Croston, who was a stone mason in Boston in the 1920 MA census. He was living with his aunt Mary Sullivan (widowed). Why I do not have a copy of the record, I do not know - I thought Mary's name was also Ellen. The following is from the notes I have of the 1920 census for Boston.
Mary, age 53, born in Ireland was head of household. Also living with her were her sons John J. age 34 (single) - teamster and Frank W. age 23 (single) - Police Officer and mary's daughter Florence age 19.
Around 1968 I met Connie and Katherine Sullivan. They lived in Dorchester. He was my father-in-laws cousin.
If you give me some of your info, I will keep in file as I do my research and will contact you if I find anything.
