My ancestor was John Coffee born about 1790 in Oconee County, SC, son of Jesse Coffey of Wilkes County, NC.
John Coffee married Winiford Neville before 1819 possibly in Rabun County, GA, where they lived near his brother, General Edward Coffee and his wife, Elizabeth Neville, sister to Winiford.John Coffee died in 1822, but not before Winiford gave birth to James Calton Coffee, November 3, 1819 in Rabun County.
