My family, Hundley, seems to be related in some way to the Coffees for many generations going back to VA. The widow of George Hundley, who served in the Patriot Army and probably died at Yorktown, was assisted by Col. John Donelson, father of Rachel Donelson, who married Andrew Jackson. Rachels'sister(?)married a Jack Coffee. George lived on the Sandy River in Pittsylvania Co, VA. Another Jack Coffee resurfaced about 100 years later to take my g-g-grandfather under his wing. Ira Hundley was a fatherless boy living in Iowa, and a Jack Coffee brought him along on a cattle drive from Iowa to Henrietta, Texas around 1877-78. Ira was a cowboy for the next 15 years. Did you happen to locate any Coffees in the Henrietta, Clay Co., TX area? Apparently, the 2 families were on familiar terms going all the way back to Colonial VA.
