While it is true that John Coggeshall, Rev. John Eliot, and Roger Williams all came to Massachusetts from England aboard the Lyon, they came on three separate voyages. According to the passenger lists in "The Planters of the Commonwealth," by Charles Edward Banks (1930, reprinted 1997, Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., Baltimore), Roger Williams and his wife Mary arrived on 5 February 1630/31, having sailed on 1 December 1630. Rev. Eliot left England on 23 August 1631 and arrived on 2 November. And John and Mary Coggeshall (listed as "Cogswell") sailed on 22 June 1632 and arrived on 16 September.
