Is Louisa Annie Coggins Higdon the daughter of Roland Coggins and Letitia Raper?Roland and Letitia are buried in Snow Hill United Methodist Cemetery, Cowee Township, Macon County, North Carolina.Roland Cogins is listed as Lou Higdon’s father on her death certificate and it is recorded that Lou and Joshua Higdon were married in Rolen Coggins’ house.Roland and Letitia’s son, Rev. Roland H. Coggins was born right after Lou was born (Lou was either born on March 1, 1849 or 1851 and Roland was born June 28, 1851, so it would make more sense if Lou was born in 1849, and she obviously isn’t the daughter of Roland H. Coggins, who is probably her brother).Another sign is the fact that Lou and Joshua Higdon’s daughter is Letisha Higdon Berry. She was probably named after Letitia Raper Coggins, possibly her maternal grandmother.
