Katherine Colclough b 1786, married Richard Hill, the son of Hugh Hill of Rockfield, Co Kildare.Katherine's mother was Ann Crawford and her father was Henry Colclough of Mount Sion. Her aunt and uncle were Katherine (Crawford) and Beauchamp Colclough of Kildavin, who emigrated to Canada.

Dudley was born circa 1788 and was married to Eliza Eaton two months after Katherine married Richard, so they were probably friends. However I have never seen the name Hill actually attached to his name.As you probably know Dudley's mother was Mary Connors whose father was Michael Connors, the gatekeeper at Duffry Hall.On Vesey's death in 1794 John Colclough, Vesey's younger son by his wife, had the job of dealing with Vesey's seraglio. In 1803 he wrote to his brother Caesar in France that he had apprenticed Dudley as a miller to Mr. Sparrow of Marlfield near Clonmel for Ten Guineas and ten more in three years.

Dudley is my ggg grrandfather. Are you in touch with Gordon Sutherland at all? (Henrietta C's gg grandson)
