She is listed in the 1880 Census data for Syracuse Precinct, Linn Co., OR; the 1900 Census data for Albany, Linn Co., OR; and the 1910, 1920, and 1930 Census data for Albany (resided at 217 East Third Street), Linn Co., OR. Born Jul 1871 in WA, Ida was the daughter of a farmer, Henry Harvey Cole, born about 1832 in VA, and Elizabeth Smith, born about 1840 in IA. In 1893, Ida married Fred C. Veal, born Aug 1868 in IN. He was the proprietor of a chair factory. The couple had four children (all born in OR), including: Roberta Ernestine Veal (1892-1992), Chester F. Veal (1902-), and Clarence R. Veal (1908-).
