Stephen Layfette Coleman and Mary Newby
I'm trying to track down my Coleman roots.

My grandmother was Emma D. Coleman, the daughter of Stephen L. Coleman and Mary Newby (Thompson W. F, Thompson, Whaley, Henry, Henry).
Mary married Stephen Coleman 30 May 1873 in Williamson Co., Tn (Tn marriages)
Mary was born 1853 in Texas (per 1880 Tipton Co., Tn census, but more than likely born in Tn.)
Stephen lives by (possible brother, cousin?) J. Calvin Coleman in 1880 census of Tipton co, Tn.
I believe that J Calvin is the son of Warner Archer Coleman and Massey Pennel, but I can't find Stephen's parents, wondering if he is related to Warner because of living next door to J Calvin.
Since Stephen and Mary were married in Willionson Co., perhaps he was related (grandson?) to Joseph Coleman line.
There is a Samuel C. Coleman in the 1860 Williamson Co. TN census with a Stephen age 12.
Another family that comes close is Hardy C. Coleman 1860 Lincoln Co. Tn. Census. There is a Calvin and a Stephen, but Calvin is older, unlike the 1880 Tipton Co. census where Stephen is older.
Birth dates vary on Stephen, as well as his name(s).
1880 Tipton Co., Tn census age 28, born 1851-1853 possible.
1900 Rains Co., TX census Sell L. Coleman age 67, born 1833 (married 13 years to Andrews, 27 yrs. old).
On his tombstone it reads S L Coleman1838-1915 (with no exact date MM/DD).
I'll make an educated guess that 1851 - 1853 is correct.
Any info you can share that might head me in the right direction will be appricated.
