I'm curious which Colliflower son the line you are researching came from. They all began with Jean deGorenflo in 1610 in Abbeyville, Picardy, France. He married Jeanne Provost, who was born in 6124 in Abbeyville.
Their son Jacques was the leader of 15 families who settled in Friedrichstal, Germany in 1698.They were fleeing the Huguenot persecution that was going on in France.Jacques was the first mayor and school master of Friedrichstal.
Then came Nicholas and his son, Pierre.Pierre's son Georg (no "e") was born in Germany and died in Hagerstown, Maryland.Georg and his family arrived in Pennsylvania on Ship Ann from Rotterdam on September 18, 1749.Georg fought in the Revolutionary and French & Indian Wars. This is the genration that changed the name to Colliflower.
I'm not sure where your friend's William fits in.I have letters from my 5th great-grandmother, Elizabeth Colliflower, daughter of George Adam Colliflower and Catherine Gray.Elizabeth married William Eakle.Their son, William, married Eliza Pennel.William and Eliza migrated to Shelby County, Missouri.
This line can be found on RootsWeb under sbdcdonna or donnalove1.
