John B. Jackson joined Bethany Baptist Church in Oglethorpe County, Ga. on Nov. 26th, 1836 and left by letter on March 15th, 1845. The minutes states his wife was named Sarah Jackson, and left church on March 15th, 1845. Sister Sayman Jackson, his sister also joined this church Nov. 26th, 1836.Mary Jackson also left this church by letter, March, 1845. Mercer Jackson was also a member of this church. Mary Jackson could have been Samuel Colquitt's daughter, since John B. Jackson was in the mountains of Ga., Tn. and Al. area where Samuel Colquitt was at. He could have been married previously if it was in the mountain region. It would help if the middle names of John B. Jackson's children were known. Samuel Colquitt's wife, Molly was the daughter of Clifford Woodruff. One would think people didn't move around much, but that simply wasn't the case. They traveled to the mountains to trade with the Indians in the early 1800s.
