Dear Wade, Thank you for your reply. I would be interested in any info you can give me and I thank you in advance. I will look into that source as Acquackanonk (now Passaic, NJ) is not far from (Horse Neck) now Caldwell, Essex County, NJ where my family is from. I am fortunate that my family has not moved for generations and I still live in this area, it makes my research much easier. If I send you unwanted info, please let me know as I have only just started in genealogy.
I am looking into Hendrick or Herndrick Colyer as I believe my gggg-grandfather Henry (1780-1850) born in NJ is possibly a namesake. I have info on a Hendrick Colyer who had placed an add for a run-away slave named Ishmael with an offer of a $10 reward in Horse Neck, NJ. It was posted in The New York Gazette and Weekly Mercury, No. 877, August 22, 1768.
