My branch of the Commerford line lead to Quebec City.
I can trace my direct family line through birth marriage and census records to the time that my ancestors emmigrated from Ireland around 1825 +/- 5years.
My gg grandfather was Patrick Commerford who married Elizabeth Bradley in Quebec City in 1831.The liklihood is that Patrick was the original immigrant to Quebec from Kilkenny. On his marriage cetificate it indicates that his parents are Oliver Commerford and Bridget Lahy? of Kilkenny Ireland.
The only records that I have found for an Oliver Commerford are from the Index to Griffith's Valuation 1848-64 indicating that an Oliver Comerford occupied property in Kilkenny, Jerpointabbey, Jerpointabbey ; and in Kilkenny, Jerpointchurch, Oldtown.
I'm trying to determine if this is the same Oliver Comerford although he might be quite old by this time.
Does anyone else have information on Oliver and Bridget Commerford from Kilkenny circa 1800-1850?
Any info would be much appreciated, and I would be happy to help anyone with links to the Quebec Commerford family history.
