Yes, sadly many of the stones have vanished or been run over during that logging operation. I assume they are clearing land to develop subdivisions as they are all over Henry County. There may be no relationship between the families other than possible German heritage and/or community. I later found out that when Franklin Garrett first surveyed it, the cemetery was originally part of a church (I don't have the name handy but it was Protestant)and it was called by that name originally. But the church building itself was torn down some years ago.So this was originally a community church cemetery and the Alls/Ahls probably settled in Dutchtown with other immigrants from Germany. My personal speculation is that name of the settlement was probably Deutschtown (sp?) used by the German immigrants originally.Other folks in the county like my mom always just called it Dutchtown-- and she told me that they spoke "Dutch" in that area-- not understanding or recognizing German or the different languages. Because many of the Conkles/Kunkles were buried there in later years, I assumed people just started calling it the "old Conkle cemetery" over time as people forgot about the church. If you are interested, I will try to find my original notes; contact me at my personal email address.
