I am also a NJ Connett. James Connett was the Connett who first came to the Colonies around 1673. There is documentation that shows that prior to departing England he was imprisoned but somehow got over here. His brothers were tried in court and one was sent to a prison in England and the other was sent to Barbados as an indentured servant. There are still Connett's in Barbados. My Great Uncle, Albert N. Connett wrote a fairly thorough Geneology in the early '60's. I don't know where a copy can be found now. Feel free to write me.
