My name is Chris Considine from Boston,I’m working on family genealogy and I know there was a link with my father, John, and Bob Considine.My father died in 1968 and I was never able to get the exact connection from him.In reading through a 2001 post on genealogy.com, I came across a post you made to an inquiry about Bob.Based on what you said, I suspect that the connection may be as follows;
John Considine, was born in 1820 in Clarecastle, Ireland and married Mary Downey.They had six kids – John, Michael, Mary Margaret and James.Through your post, I know that James had children – William, James, and Edward by first wife, and six children by a third wife – Charles, Sofie, Emily, BOB, and George.
My father spoke with Bob and when he and my mother June were married, Bob hosted them in NYC on their honeymoon, which was VJ Day at the very end of WW2.I had many pictures of my father with Bob, but they were lost when my parents divorced.
My suspicion is that the family connection is as follows;
· My fathers father’s name was Michael Francis Considine born in Lisdoonvarna, Ireland in 1885 – he served in the British military for many years in India
· His father, my great great grandfather was also named Michael Francis considine and it is believed he was born c. 1860, but I can prove it at this time.His father was also named Michael Considine and probably was born C. 1835
· I know that he had a brother John and other siblings, but don’t know the names
I'm positive that there is a connection with Bob.The big question is could this Michael Considine, born c. 1860 be one of the off-spring of the John Considine born in 1920?That may be the missing link that ties Bob and my father together.I know when my folks divorced, my father communicated with Bob and went to see him several times.
I hope this makes sense to you and I hope this email is still valid and you can help me figure out some of the pieces to the Considine puzzle.
