I am a descendant of Jonathan P. Lackey (pronounced LaQuay), brother of Esther Lackey who married Uriah Converse.
I have wondered for several years if Winthrop was a son of Esther and Uriah.Have you found any documentation that supports their relationship?
Uriah & Esther have not been easy to trace!I believe they are in his father's HH in 1800. (MA, Worcester Co., Charlton and Sturbridge), in Charlton, MA in 1810 (Indexed as Unoh Convey), and in Sturbridge, Addison Co., VT in 1820.I haven't found them in either 1830 or 40, have you?
I seriously question whether Mary J. Andrews is their daughter. She consistently gives her birth place as Virginia and from records I've seen I don't believe Uriah or Esther could have been in VA around 1810.
A Lackey cousin of mine was in MA a few years ago and was able to view the original Charlton Baptist Church records.Below are transcriptions of the two documents she saw relating to Esther Converse.
May 12th, 1810 Brother Eli Joness wife - Uriah Converss wife and Liddy Morey were received by the Chh - who were Baptised the Saturday before by Elder Boomer. (Note - Transcribed as written in document.)
Charlton, Oct. 4, 1812 the Baptised Church in Charlton to any Chh of the Same Leveritt and ??? sende the Christian Love, Brethern this is to inform you that Esher Convers is a respectable Sister in good standing with us whom we recommend either to transient or full communion and ???? we are informed She is received By any such Chh. we shall ???? her D??nist from us. By order and in Behalf of the Chh. Daniel Bacon Scribe
As you can see the above records firmly place Esther Converse in Charlton, MA during the time Mary J. Andrews was born.
And just in case you haven't seen this... here is a record of Winthrop Converse's ordination.

I would enjoy hearing from you about anything further you've discovered about this Converse family.
