Cooner Europe Connection
Does a anyone know what the europe connection is? The 3 brothers is all I know around 1752. My G-Grandfather is Grover Cleveland Cooner from Calhoun Co. MS. His father was David Carrol Cooner, then John Cooner(actually moved the Cooner name to Calhoun Co. from SC.) son of James Patmon Cooner b.1798 in Abbeville,SC.
I have found that several Cooner's visited Calhoun Co. but feel John Cooner actually moved the name first. Like the World War I Draft Registration shows 4 Cooners signed up all inCalhoun Co. but one was born in Jasper AL.(William Thomas Cooner) b.sept. 6, 1890. Only a certain age group was required to sign up, and men already in the service didn't have to sign.
I have also found a family living in SC in late 1600's with the spelling KOONER but came from SWITZERLAND, hope this is wrong lineage, I will be very confused! Thanks.
