Aaron Copas was the father of John (b. 10 Feb. 1815), Thomas (b. about 1818), Aaron (b. 1822), 2 males born between 1826 and 1830 that apparently died young, a female born between 1821 and 1825.These children are all mentioned in the 1830 census in Middleton Township, Columbiana Co., OH.Phoebe Guy Copas was most likely their mother. We know that Mary Fitch Cross was the mother of John Cross (b. 1821-1823 in PA), James Cross (b. about 1827 in PA) and Lorena Cross (b. 1830 in PA).Since Lorena was born in PA, Aaron and Mary were not married to each other when the census was taken in 1830.By the 1840 census, John Copas and Thomas Copas were no longer living at home.John Copas lived in Beaver Co., PA.I don't know where Thomas lived in that year.Several scenarios are possible to account for the children living in the home in that year.William Copas (b. 1837) is probably the male under 5.The 2 males between 15 and 19 could be Aaron Copas, John Cross or James Cross.Phoebe Copas (b. 1833) was the female between 5 and 9.Lorena Cross was probably the female aged between 10 and 14.This all points to the likelihood that Phoebe Guy Copas died between 1830 and 1840 and is a new conclusion for me.Of course, this does not tell us whether Phoebe Guy or Mary Fitch was the mother of William Copas and Phoebe Copas.Let's keep in touch.I'll keep my eyes open for James Cross.
