I had the marriage of Patricio and Guadalupe in my CORDOVA database, the same as you noted, without his parents listed.
I am wondering if possibly his parents could be Rafael Jesus Cordova and Maria de la Luz Duran? This couple had one son, Jose Patricio, and another son, Jose Patricio del Carmel/Carmen. Rafael Jesus and Maria de la Luz were married in 1873 in Trinidad, Las Animas County, Colorado.
I noted the information on this couple and his many children from p.125 of a self-published book, Plaza de Los Cordobas, authored by E.L. Torres, (DVM, retired). Rafael Jesus married a second time in 1895, and a third time in 1900. The latter two spouses were sisters, daughters of Esquipulo Lopez and Paula Manzanares.
I've created over time a very large database of CORDOVAs and male and females spouses who married into this family line. I certainly don't have all the Cordovas possible but I have many who were in the northern New Mexico and southern Colorado areas.
The reason I am suggesting that Jose Rafael may be the father of your Patricio is the 1881 birth date you noted.
The son, Jose Patricio, in my notes is the father of a Cordova groom married in 1859 in San Juan de los Caballeros, NM.
The son, Jose Patricio del Carmen, is the 11th child listed in my notes, and unfortunately not with a birth date. Let's guess that a child was born every year after Jose Rafael's 1873 marriage. His 11th child then would be about 1884 ... or maybe even 1881?
IGI records are submissions by people and may not necessary be exact. Thus the 1881 birth year in the IGI record may not be exact? Do you know who submitted the record? Perhaps you could contact them and learn what their source is for the 1881 birth year?
Another possibility might be a baptismal record I have for Jose Patricio Innocente Cordova, born 9 Jul 1879. Again, the info for this record is from Dr. Torres' book, Plaza de Los Cordobas, p. 369.
---Torres, p. 369. BAPTISM:Holy Trinity (Trinidad,CO) baptisms, Vol. 4, p. 81. Padrinos:Jacobo Cordova and Maria Victoria Montoya Name = "Jose Patricium Inocentium Cordova"
You might want to contact Dr. Gene (Eugene) Torres directly. He is retired, living in Torres, CO, a rural community outside of Trinidad, CO. Phone: 719-846-2301; E-mail: [email protected]. I don't know if either or both of these contacts are current but I would guess that he is listed in the Trinidad, CO phone directory.
Trinidad and Walsenburg are neighboring communities, about 38 miles apart. I was born and raised in Trinidad.
Hope that this helps. Do let me know what/if you find something. I would welcome expanding what I already have in my database. Your post provided me a great deal more information than I had. Your research has been wonderful.
Another wonderful researcher who may be able to help you if there is any connection of this Cordova to the San Luis Valley Cordova clan, is Maria Clara Martinez, [email protected] of the people in Las Animas and in Huerfano Counties came from the San Luis areas.
