I am trying to find the father and mother of Benjamin Ebenezer Cory who married a Hannah Rice.It is not known where Benjamin and Hannah Rice met and how they eventually ended up in New Hampshire for a number of years.
Benjamin and Hannah Rice Cory came from New Hampshire to Pinckney, Lewis Co., NY in 1805.Apparently, all of their children were born in New Hampshire before they moved.
I am in possession of a copy of the will of Benjamin Cory/Corey, stating he was of Pinckney, Lewis Co., NY, April 5, 1829.Sylvester Miller acted as his surrogate and affixed his seal of office in the village of Lowville. This testimony was given October 2, 1829.The will was proved on October 22, 1829 in the village of Lowville, Pinckney, Lewis Co., NY.
Affixed to the will are statements signed by each child named in Benjamin's will to attest to the fact that they did indeed receive the one dollar willed them by their father.I am also in possession of copies of these documents.
I am aware of the DNA work the Cory Society is doing, but do not know if any link has been made to the ancestors of this Benjamin.I do not have any male relatives to participate in this testing.
