Richard, my great-great grandfather (5-generations back) was Alexander Rose Cormack. He was born on 23 Feb 1831 in Philalelphia PA. to William and Margaret Cormack. One of Alexander's sons was a Robert Stuart, he was born in Delphos KS and married Margaret Jones and my father was also a Robert S and he was born in San Jose CA in 1922 to Stuart Paul Cormack and Bertha Ludeman. I have found Margaret in the 1850 census in PA, Cedar Ward page 24, last 4 lines, Philadelphia County but William must have already passed away because he is not listed. There is a William listed in the 1840 census, in the Cedar Ward, but I have not had time to go to the genealogy library in Salt Lake to see if the dates match,I am 90% certain they will. Back to the 1850 census, Margaret lists her age as 56 and born in Ireland. Three sons are listed, James 22 born in Nova Scotia Canada working as a "seaman", Alexnader born in Philadelphia listed as a "baker", and Robt.S who is 11.Two questions; (1) How can I get a copy of William's naturalization papers? and (2) How can I contact your cousin to get a copy of William and Margaret's marriage papers?
