My great grandfather was Hubert Corrigan, born c.1852 Roscommon, Ireland, he was the seventh son of a seventh son (Patrick Corrigan date of birth unknown who married a Mary Ellen ......don't know but speculation it is Raftery -Patrick had a cousin called Honouria Raftery) no. of siblings of Hubert unknown, but names we know of are:- Patrick, Dominic/k, Martin, Joseph, John, and James or Thomas, daughters include Mary, Sarah, Jane and Ellen. My mother remembers that the name of where they lived was pronounced Ballykidrine (don't know how to pronounce gaelic but might match Ballyghadereen, or Ballykilcline) my guess is the former. Hubert came over to England, during the Irish Potato famine and married Elizabeth Ann Hodson born 1855 who was a quaker (although she changed religion). We know that many Corrigans came to the UK and stayed with my great grandfather Hubert before settling down elsewhere, Corrigans we know came to the UK are Dominic/k and Patrick, Dominic/k's descendents whereabouts are unknown but dominic/k 's daughter katy married another Corrigan from the Sale Moor area (possibly a relative) and Katy and husband lived near the Station. Looking for information about whereabouts of Huberts siblings, and also looking for descendants of Huberts father Patrick's brothers and sisters whereabouts totally unknown but it is possible that they might have emigrated elsewhere or stayed in Ireland.
