He may have been a widower who married a Frances A.M.Lane, born in Alabama to a Mr.Lane and Eliza Flanagan. They returned from Alabama where she married Mr.Edw.Cosby.There is some connection to my Pace family of Fluvanna. My grgrandparents were John R.Pace b. 1809 and Elizabeth. Elizabeth may have been a sister to Frances. She was later on the 1900 census in thehousehold of John Walker Pace( my grandfather) and listed as Fannie Cosby.(boarder). My mother Vera walker Pace b 1893 in Fluvanna Referred to her as Aunt Fannie. Edw. Cosby was a witness on an application for pension by my grgrandmother Mary A.Herndon who was the wife of David C.Robinson. ( I suspect he may have Cosby connections) He was born abat. 1789 and served in the war of 1812 for which Mary Herdon Robinson received a pension. His first wife was Mary Hodges of Goochland.
