I am following this WILLIAMS descendant line and have more on the ancestors of this line.
John Z. HEADSTREAM married COTTLE sisters, Delilah and Elizabeth. There was a 22 year age difference between the sisters. Interestingly, John married Delilah, the younger one first in abt. 1849, then married widow Elizabeth in 1857, eight years later.
Records do not indicate any HEADSTREAM children were born to these unions.

Here are some GenForum posts by other researchers:
John Z. Headstream
My grandmother was Mabel Inez Headstream
daughter of Felix J Headstream and Fay Bowers.
Felix was the son of James W. Headstream and Rachael M. Ford.
James was the son of John P. Headstream and Harriet Hassell.
John also had a son, John Z. Headstream. I have found 2 John Z. One was married to Nancy Hulday Cagle of AR, the other was married to Delilah Cottle of TX. Nancy is listed as widow on land records for Independance Co., AR. Is this the same man? They were both born about the same time, 1825 in TN. Anyone know?
I only show one John Z. Headstream. John Zebulon Headstream was born 1823 Hickman Co, Tn to John Peter and Harriet Hassell Headstream. Harriet was the daughter of Zebulon and Elizabeth Jennett Hassell. John Z. married Nancy Cagle 11/29/1860 in Batesville, AR He died 1880 in Batesville, AR. buried in a private plot on the old Headstream farm. Now on private property.
There were a large group of James Wood Headstream's (John Z.'s brother) children that moved to Roby, TX area. It is posible that one of them had a son named John Z., but I don't show one.
Check out the Dewitt Colony Forum, he is named in an article about Cottle. He is also listed in Family Tree Maker by Larry Priest. I asked for information, but it was more about the Cottle Family. I thought maybe John P. had a brother with him when he came over. Just something I was wondering about.
John Zebulon Headstream was born 1824, Hickmon Co., TN. In about 1849 he married Delilah Cottle in Washington Co. TX. Then on 10-13-1857 he married #2 Elizabeth Cottle (sister of Delilah) in Fayette Co. TX. Then #3 Nancy Hulday Cagle in 1860 in Independance Co. AR. It seemed that the Cottle sisters did a little husdand swapping and after John divorsed Elizabeth he went back to AR where he married his #3 wife.
It may sound a little strange but this seems to be the way it happened.
Stanley, I thought this is what had happen with John Zebulon. I could not find him on the 1850 Arkansas Census, but he had returned to Arkansas by the 1860 Arkansas(Independence Co) Census. The married Nancy Hulda Cagle on 11/25/1860 in Independence Co, AR. They had
two children 1> Julia born 1861 and Marrried Isaac C. Cheek/Clark 10/22/1876. 2> Cedric
born 1866. I don't have any other info on the children. John Z. died in Independence co, Ar in 1880. He is buried in Headstream Cem. now on private property.
Hi - just found out about your site. I'm related to the Headstreams through the James/Mahulda group. Anna - was my ggrandmother. I was searching the web last night and ran onto a site that was looking for relatives in Sweden for John. Evidently this poster said that he had come to Tenn. at 16. My mother said there were rumblings that he first landed in Mexico and had a wife there - then went to Tennessee and married Harriett - Have you heard anything about that? I'm glad to see this forum . My knowledge of this family is spotty - both Anna and William James died within a year of each other and my grandfather was raised by relatives. He ran away at 13 and was a cowboy in the panhandle area. I didn't know that James had a brother... any other siblings? Thanks
