Charles I may be wrong, but this is the way I had it figured.
There are two William and Ann Coulson families.
William Coulson and Ann are the parents of William Born 14 April 1809 John Born 15 August 1811 Charlotte born 2 Nov, 1815 James born 9 April 1817
William Coulson and Ann Bailey are the parents of Jane born 10 april 1832 William born 30 Nov 1833 George born 27 sept 1840 Maria 14 april 1841 Emma born 14 Nov 1847
Either Maria is incorrect and the name should be Caroline, or there is another child or the census is incorrect.
I believe that the first William Coulson the son of William Coulson and Ann(no last name) married Ann Bailey and is the father of Jane, William, George, Maria and Emma.Does that make sense to you?I came up with this scenario(sp) several years ago from going through the Swavesey and area parish records.I can't explain the census situation but it is quite possible it is incorrect.
I also have the records from the 1851 census that supports my theory that Ann wasn't a widow.Either that or she married another William Coulson(urgh)
William Coulson 40 H Ann Coulson 40 wf William Coulson 17 son George Coulson 10 son Maria Coulson9 daughter Emila Coulson3 daughter
Jane Coulson on her marriage certificate also lists her father as William Coulson.Of course she may be just using her mothers husbands name.Oh well, I hope this helps.
Which Coulson's are you working on.I might have something here that would help you.
