Dear Sue, I was thrilled to find your info on the Courtois line. I was actually looking for my G Grandfather's info to no avail so am trying thru the G Grandmother's side and voila! My G Grandmother was Arthemise Courtois, m. to Narcisse (Nelson) Rivet (2nd Marraige). These are my mother's grandparents. I knew there was a son Octave Proulx by her first marraige. (Don't know if there are any other children by this marraige although I wondered about Jules Proulx Gen.#5.) Thought you might like a little additonal info on her. Both Arthemise and Nelson are buried at St Michael's Parish cemetary in Greensboro Bend, Vermont as well as Octave Proulx.Octave was never married.Arthemise death certificate does not have "Marguerite" on it but her father was Edouard Courtois, mother "Mary Roberd" (the writing is very bad but I'm sure it was meant to be Madeleine Robert.) M Arthemise was born in 1838, Canada, d. 1910 in Stannard, Vermont. They are the parents of my Grandfather Narcisse (Nelson) Rivet, Therefore continuing the Rivet line for one more generation to present. Both he and his wife )Eleanor Veronique (Meilleur)are buried at St Michael's cemetary in the Greensboro Bend, Vermont. My grandfather was the last Rivet son. There was also two daughters, Mary Rivet(Demars)and Octavie Rivet (Blanchette). If anyone is interested I have some information on the lines they connect to, Meilleur, Marceau, Demars, Demers, Blanchette. I also would like info to continue the Rivet line back from M. Arthemise & Nelson. Is there a web site that gives vital records for St Brigitte and other Canadian parishes or townships? This would be very helpful. Thanks, this info was a great help.
