I believe that (John) Green Cousins was my great-great-great-grandfather through this line: James Morrison Cousins (1823-1965), William Green Cousins (1843-1922), Robert Lemuel Cousins (1877-1944), and Jack Cousins (1923-1969). As I understand the family history, Robert was estranged from most of his family after a dispute between he and a brother over a young woman. The girl chose the brother, and Robert moved from the family home in Alabama to Texas, settling in El Campo where he married a local girl, Julia Evalyn Brown (1993-1951). He had contact with only one brother, Oscar Sadler Cousins (1890-1967), the rest of his life. My father's younger sister, Betty Lou (1925-2010), was the last of that generation when she passed away in January, 2010. Ironically, she is buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, which is also the final resting place of her grandfather, William Green Cousins, a man who was unknown to her.
