The line of Lemuel Covell
To Those of the Covell Family:
Phebe Paine was born on October 21, 1746,in the town of Canterbury, Connecticut, as the second daughter of Joshua Paine and Constance and in 1749 she moved to the town of Amenia, in Dutchess County with her parents. She died on October 15, 1799.
Her first marriage at the age of sixteen to SETH COVELL, Jr. (1749-1769), of Pawlingstown and they had four children.Seth died on September 11, 1769, when she was only twenty-three.They had these children born:Lemuel, Abigail, Seth & Alanson.
She also married Samuel Munroe and William Bentley who tragically murdered her in 1799.
Is this Lemuel the Baptist minister who pastored in New York and made missionary trips to Canada? He died in 1806.There were other Baptist ministers in the Covell family.
Thankyou for your response to this.Have a great week.
